MITSUBISHI MOTORS IN THE UK WOWS THE CROWDS AT CLA GAME FAIR
MITSUBISHI Motors in the UK made the most of the bumper crowds at Europe’s largest countryside event, where one lucky winner drove off with a new Outlander for a year.
The annual CLA Game Fair attracted crowds of 140,000, with people making the trip to Ragley Hall in Warwickshire from all over the country. And the Mitsubishi stand, hosted by the events team from Cirencester together with a team from Firs Garage, was kept busy over the three days.
Last year the Game Fair, which has been going since 1958, had to be cancelled due to bad weather, but this year the glorious sunshine saw 900 exhibitors pack out the national event.
The main attractions included the Mitsubishi-sponsored CLA Gundog of the Year, the International Spey Casting Championship, Hooked on Horses riding demonstrations, birds of prey, ferret racing, hound parades, celebrity chef cookery demonstrations, and gardening inspiration from the Chelsea Gold Medal winners.
The CLA Gundog of the Year contest took place over the three days in a new arena in the grounds of Ragley Hall and was won by Wendy Glue, with her dog Sam.
Wendy, whose prize is a new Mitsubishi Outlander for a year, said: ‘I’m honoured to win this title, and am delighted that Sam has proved himself. It was always going to be a challenge and we were certainly up against the very best dogs. On this occasion I am pleased to say everything came together and we came out on top.’
Angela Osman, Mitsubishi Motors Events and Sponsorship Manager, said: ‘We’re delighted to support this great competition with the new Mitsubishi Outlander, which we trust will provide happy motoring for Wendy and Sam.’
CLA Game Fair Director Andrew Crawford added: ‘This has proven a fitting competition – the UK’s best gundog at the UK's largest countryside show. We have seen some incredible partnerships over the three days, and I’m delighted that this top talent decided to take part in what will undoubtedly become a firm fixture in the gundog world.’
A team from Firs Garage, in Hook Norton, were on hand at the Mitsubishi stand, which had nearly 20 vehicles on display including the special edition Mitsubishi Browning vehicles available from Firs Garage.
For Dean Wood, Dealer Principal at Firs Garage, it was a chance to catch up with some familiar faces and meet new customers. Dean said: ‘We have a lot of enquiries to follow up. The team did a lovely job with the stand, it all looked really good. It was a successful show, which is great after it was cancelled last year because of the bad weather. The team worked really hard in the heat and it was a successful show for us. We saw a lot of friends from the past and had chance to speak to a lot of people.’
