Guns on Pegs, L200 Browning Walkinshaw editorial

GunsOnPegs website editorial 25 December 2015

What do you get if you cross a Mitsubishi with a Browning?

In 2010, Mitsubishi brought out a large update to it’s very well-known and successful Shogun. This gave the perfect opportunity for Dean Wood of Firs Garage, Oxfordshire to capitalise on Mitsubishi’s advancements and list the car at a new level through the creation of a partnership specifically for Firs Garage.

Dean contacted David Stapley of Browning as he saw the popular shotgun brand to be the perfect partner in the creation of a new luxurious version of the Shogun, given Browning and Mitsubishi’s emphasis on build quality.

Originally they only planned to produce ten Shogun Browning cars but the demand was so great that they subsequently rolled it out to the L200 model to approach another part of the market within only 12 months of the launch of the partnership.

Only available from Firs Garage, the Browning range is a bespoke range of stylish and practical vehicles, giving that extra touch of luxury, with options to suit your requirements.

All Browning vehicles have the safety and versatility of the Mitsubishi unique optional full-time on-road 4x4 system and Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control.

Why L200 Browning?

Browning, which has been synonymous with shooters for generations, seemed a perfect match for the Mitsubishi four wheel drive range: giving the ultimate country sports utility vehicle for at work or play.

David Stapley of Browning, said ‘Browning rely on the new Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck and find it the perfect partner in so many ways. The new looks of the Series 5 L200 are striking while maintaining its integral strength, precise handling, reliability and outright performance – just like Browning shotguns.’

The unique Mitsubishi 4x4 system

Not many know that the Mitsubishi L200 is the only double cab vehicle that you can run in 2WD or 4WD on a hard road by use of a third diff. Changing British weather conditions are one of our biggest challenges when driving on our roads during winter and with the L200 these are much less of a problem compared to its competitors.

Why Walkinshaw?

Taking full advantage of the robust and sophisticated unique Mitsubishi 4x4 system, the Walkinshaw performance design team with Mitsubishi in the UK developed the Series 4 L200 Walkinshaw. Given the success, it seemed logical to Dean to use this knowledge to continue the range through Firs Garage with the new class leading Series 5 L200 Browning range. The (post-registration conversion) L200 Browning Walkinshaw is, with no doubt, a specialist high performance sports utility vehicle.

Browning adjustments are aesthetic and the Walkinshaw has a completely upgraded suspension package resulting in a rally type performance pickup.

The new L200 Browning (Series 5) range starts from £19,995 + VAT (£23,994).

To experience the Mitsubishi Browning range, the Mitsubishi unique 4x4 system on and off-road, call the Firs Garage sales team to arrange a test drive on 01608 737349. The Mitsubishi Browning range is only available through Firs Garage and not directly from Mitsubishi.
