Literary Festival gets motoring with the help of Mitsubishi Dealership
Mitsubishi Motors in the UK Dealer PR Office - Mitsubishi Matters press release 15 April 2015
AUTHORS at the Chipping Norton Literary Festival will be travelling in style thanks to a Mitsubishi dealership in Hook Norton. Firs Garage has lent the organisers an Outlander PHEV to transport the likes of David Baddiel, Lee Child and Sheila Hancock.
The literary festival, which takes place from April 23rd to 26th, will host a variety of distinguished writers from a range of genres, with 3,000 people due to attend events at venues across the Cotswold market town.
Festival volunteer Chris Hogan will be driving the plug-in hybrid vehicle and making sure the writers are all in the right place at the right time.
Chris said: ‘Firs Garage was a natural choice because they are so close to Chipping Norton and it’s great that they have responded to our plea for help. The festival is in its third year now and previously we have used our own cars, so this will be a great help.
We wanted a vehicle that would transport four adults with their luggage in comfort, and the fact the Outlander PHEV is a 4x4 means it will cope whatever the weather. It’s also an incredibly eco-friendly vehicle, so that helps us reduce the environmental impact of the festival.’
A year after its launch, sales of the Outlander PHEV have already passed the 10,000 mark and the vehicle has overtaken every other plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicle on the market. Combining electric and petrol power, it can travel 32½ miles in electric mode alone.
Sonya Wood said: ‘The festival is such a super event for the local area that we are delighted to be able to help. Chipping Norton is a stone’s throw from our dealership and we are committed to helping the local area. The Outlander PHEV will be the perfect vehicle for chauffeuring the authors to where they need to be.’
